Daily basic cleaning is essential for cat villa maintenance. Remove cat litter, faeces and loose cat fur from the tray every day to keep the interior dry and well‑ventilated. Use pet‑safe hypochlorous‑acid disinfectant for sanitizing. Avoid harsh disinfectants such as 84 disinfectant and bleach which harm cats’ respiratory tracts. Allow full air‑drying before cats re‑enter. Do not douse solid‑wood cabinets with water; wipe surfaces with well‑wrung damp cloth.

Regular deep cleaning and part inspection are necessary. Thoroughly clean jump platforms, cushions and waste trays every week. Removable fabric cushions can be washed and sun‑dried. Vacuum sisal scratching posts instead of soaking them in water. Check door hinges and mounting screws of jump platforms monthly and tighten loose ones. Replace worn, cracked or frayed sisal posts, jump boards and soft cushions in time to eliminate safety risks.

Adopt different maintenance methods according to materials. Keep solid‑wood units away from damp areas and ventilate frequently to prevent mould. Fully air‑dry iron cages after washing against rust. For MDF boards, use dry or slightly damp cloth only, as water easily causes swelling. Do not put aromatherapy or sachets inside to avoid odour irritation, so as to extend the service life of the cat villa.
